Kurtis is a happy two year old. Just looking at him you would never know there is a 2 inch tumor inside his brain. Kurtis was diagnosed with an inoperable juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma in December of 2007. There are no conventional treatment options available for Kurtis. So we have been on a journey trying to find a treatment that can help Kurt.

Kurt continues to amaze us as he gets better & better. His eye muscle has corrected itself. He is talking the same amount as before surgery if not more. The best part-- He is WALKING!!! Praise the Lord for answered prayers!!
Kurt has been going to physical therapy two days a week. His therapist, Cassie has a brain tumor too! So she is so in tune with what Kurt is going through and what he needs. the problem Kurt has with his leg shaking, she was able to tell us exactly what it is, clonus. She has had it too. Basically, Kurt is having problems flexing his foot upwards- which makes it scary for him to walk & can damage his knee. He will be getting fitted for a brace for his foot/ankle this week. The brace will be "low profile" & fit inside his shoe so no one will even know he has it on.
Friday night Shannon & I went to the annually fundraiser for BeHeadStrong, beer and wine tasting and silent auction. As many of you know BeHeadStrong has helped our family tremedously by paying for Kurt's first round of treatments at Camelot Cancer Care. BeHeadStrong believes in supporting and helping the families of brain tumor survivors. If you would like to donate please visit them at BeHeadStrong.org.
I would also like to thank the Moore family for their generous gift to our family!
